Rockstar Announces Release Date for First GTA 6 Trailer
Mark your calendars! The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on Tuesday, December 5, at 9am ET, potentially making it one of the most significant video game releases in recent history.
Rockstar first hinted at a December release for the GTA 6 trailer in November, expressing excitement about showcasing their latest project. “We’re thrilled to announce that the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto will be out in early December. We’re grateful for the unwavering support from our players globally, which has fueled our passion for game creation. Since Rockstar’s inception in 1998, our goal has been to make video games as culturally impactful as any other form of entertainment, and we hope our games have been a part of that journey,” Rockstar stated.
The anticipation for GTA 6 has been building since the release of GTA 5 over a decade ago. The game’s existence was first hinted at in a 2020 Kotaku report addressing Rockstar’s internal culture and officially confirmed in a 2022 press release, where Rockstar acknowledged that the game’s development was progressing well. That same year, early game footage was leaked following a major security breach, leading to the arrest of a British teenager connected to the hack.
Speculations about a release date range between April 2024 and March 2025, aligning with Take-Two Interactive’s forecast for significant financial growth in that fiscal period. Many believe such an increase in revenue is likely tied to the launch of this highly anticipated title from the immensely successful franchise.
