GTA 6 Map Leak Shows How Massive Vice City
Last year, a work-in-progress version of Grand Theft Auto VI was leaked online. Despite Rockstar Games’ efforts to remove the leaks from the internet, they were unable to prevent an overwhelming amount of people, including pets, from viewing the content. The leaked information confirmed that the game would be set in Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami, which had been rumored for years. While the map itself was not included in the leaks, fans were able to estimate its size through Rage Engine Units, which suggests that it will be massive compared to the already sizable map of GTA 5. As a result, the game could potentially dwarf its predecessor in terms of scale and scope.
The ongoing GTA VI Vice City Mapping Project aims to use the leaked files, which include references to various locations, to reconstruct the map of GTA 6. If the project’s estimate is accurate, the game’s map will be significantly larger and will feature a greater emphasis on the ocean, which is to be expected given its setting in southern Florida.
The size of the map, however, may not be fully revealed yet. According to a comment, the leaked files indicate that the map extends further north than what has been shown. While rumors have circulated about the game potentially featuring other locations such as Liberty City, the midwest, the Caribbean, and South America, none of these are reflected in the leaked files. The comment highlights the presence of numerous towns and cities, including York Town and Red Hill, which suggest that the map may expand even further to the north of Port Gelhorn.
It’s important to approach all of this information with a degree of skepticism. While the estimation is based on leaked files, there’s still room for uncertainty. The legitimacy of the leak and its files, which form the foundation of the aforementioned Reddit post, are not in question. However, it’s worth noting that this is still largely conjecture.
